We're Moving Slowly Forward

Good Morning,
Finally got the word on the appraisal. All is well so we are now moving forward inch by inch. Now we're waiting on the call to tell us the closing date. When this all started it was set to on or before Oct 10th. I was so hoping for a sooner date, so as not to have to pay all of Oct bills. But with today being Sept 24th I don't see that happening. Again it's hurry up and wait.

Update on the rib situation... They are getting better everyday. Still sore but much better...

On a happier note, today is officially the first day of Fall. Waking up to temps in the low 60s this morning was a great change. Even slept better last night due to the cooler temps outside. Yay...

We have been having some issues with our internet service going off and on at all times of the day. This morning there was a cable truck at the end of the driveway working on the lines upon the power pole. Ed went out to talk to them and told them it had been going on for a few days now. They said they were aware of it and that there was trouble through out the neighborhood and they were working on getting everything back to normal as quickly as possible. I see a difference already. Yay!

Stay tuned...

Until next time
Happy Trails and Safe Travels Y'all :)

Another Day...

Good Afternoon...
Wanted to update you with what's going on with the house sale. We're still waiting on the closing, but we did get a call from our agent telling us we should hear something Mon or Tues on the appraisal. Slowly but surely we're moving forward. I will keep you posted.

We picked up our new sign today. I love it, but Ed's not a happy camper! He thinks it's too dark and hard to read. I would love to hear what you have to say about it. Please leave a comment in the comment section on your opinion.

Ya know, I really gotta tell ya something, BUT you gotta promise not to laugh. Last Thursday during all those heavy down pours, I hiked over to the Big House from the MH just like I always do to visit Mr Bathroom. Remember now we're still living in the driveway. Well I was VERY careful, took my shoes off at the door, sat the umbrella down, the next thing I know BOOM flat on my face! Laying there dazed and in amazement... I thought to myself, wow, what just happened??!!?? After picking myself up, I went on about my business. Not realizing I may have hurt something. As time went on my ribs started getting sore and more sore. By the time I was ready for bed it was taking my breath just to move. The hubs was a good sport he switched side of the bed so I could sleep, or should I say try to sleep, on my other side. He even offered to sleep on the couch. It's been 4 days now and it still hurts when I move around, sneeze or cough, other than that it ain't too bad.

I'll be keeping everyone up to date with the Hurlburt's Adventures so stay tuned, you just never know might happen. Signing off for now, from the driveway...

Happy Camping and Safe Travels!

Driveway Blues

Well we still have not heard anything on the appraisal that was done a few days ago. In the meantime I'll tell you a little bit of what we have added in the MH while living in the driveway. My wonderful hubs replaced our Norcold RV fridge with a Samsung residential fridge. Then we added the straps I made for traveling days.
Ed also installed the washer/dryer combo he got for me. Yea!
He did a little rebuild for me as well. I really did like the first pantry he built, I just could not get use to the sliding doors. So he did some re-thinking and oh yeah, did he ever come up with a brilliant idea. We went to Lowe's and he found some window shutters. He added a little support to the doors and then added some magnet fasteners to hold it shut. WoW that worked out great.
I tell you it is so wonderful to have a handy man for a husband.
Thank You Honey
I Love You to the moon and back!!!

Thanks for stopping by.
Stay tuned for the Hurlburt's Adventures... as the Saga continues.
OH Yeah... I almost forgot the Sat Dish, well duh.
I had to do me some high powered talking to get this baby!

and the Adventure continues

Good Day all...
As you know we are patiently awaiting the closing of our house so we can get out of the driveway. Well we finally had the appraiser here yesterday now it's wait some more... The appraiser said he would have his report ready in 2-3 days, Really? Now we just have to wait on the VA to approve everything and do the close. Boy I sure hope it won't be much longer now.

At least the view is not too bad looking out the MH window, with the leaves turning it's kinda nice to watch. They turn from green to red then yellow before falling off. In fact they started turning early this year...

Looks like we might be in for an unusually early and cold winter. Our summer wasn't bad,  we never hit 100* and that is VERY unusual for here in east Texas. Last March when we had that late ice storm I said it then, I felt we would have a mild summer, turns out I was right. Now we'll see about this winter, just what will it bring?

Guess we will stay in east Texas for the winter and then head over to the east coast sometime in Jan. I'm really looking forward to see the kids out in San Diego, it's been a while. Hope that will be a great place to spend some of the winter. After that as soon as it starts getting warmer we will likely head up the east coast to Washington State and onto the National Parks across the top of the good ol' USA and on over to New York to visit with Ed's cousin Susan. Of course that's the plan for now. I love being retired, you can change your plans at the drop of a hat. Yea!

Stay tuned everyone for the continuing saga of the Hurlburt's Adventures. Ya'll have a great day and Safe Travels!

In the Beginning

Ed, Cricket and I have been RVing for many many years. Ed and I have been married for 18 years but each of us have been camping since we were kids. Now that we are retired we have decided to sell all our belongings and go full time and tour the country. We put our house on the market in July 2014 and moved into our motor coach and are awaiting the closing on the house so we can hit the road. We also have a Jeep Liberty that we tow. In the meantime we are camping here in the driveway.

As soon as the house closes we will fly to Miami FL for Ed to meet a long last daughter he hasn't seen since she was 2 mo old. She is now 39... WoW,  I know sad, But he just found her through Facebook she was told by her Mother that he was dead, murdered while working in the CIA. The wonderful thing is she kept the Hurlburt name which is how he finally found her. She had kept her info on FB private and only went public 2 weeks before he found her. Amazing how life works out. So our first trip will be to meet her then it will be back to the coach and start to make our way out west to the California coast. We have kids in San Diego so we will visit with them before heading up the west coast to Oregon and Washington State across to Montana and so on, of course there will be many stops along the way. Stay tuned and follow along with us on our adventures. We will be posting many pictures as well as reviews on all the campgrounds we stay at and report back to you. Have a great day and Happy Camping Y'all!
