Bump in the Road Adventure... Fixed

When I last posted we were waiting for parts to fix our slide. I must tell you, we called this RV repair service that came out the same day, Tues. Checked on parts the next day, Wed. Ordered the parts on Thurs. They called us Fri morning, said the parts were there and for us to bring in the coach in for them to do the repairs. They not only fixed the bad slide but also replaced the same parts on the other slide which they said was getting ready to go out. Thank goodness for our extended warranty, it paid all but our deductible. I can not say enough great things about this awesome repair shop RV Restore and Repair here in Morgan Hill Ca. Thank you Tim, Raul, Alex, Jim and Leo... You guys ROCK!!!!

Now that all the repairs are done we are anxious to hit the road and catch up to our friend in Yosemite Lakes Thousand Trails. They all left last Tues and we were all supposed to arrive about the same time. Of course we are now a week behind them. There has been snow, sleet and rain during this week at Yosemite, maybe we were fortunate enough to have missed all that bad weather. We are scheduled to pull out of Morgan Hill Thousand Trails on Tues. and if all goes well we roll out of here and the weather will be nice for our stay.

It may be a little while before I write another post, I hear there is NO phone service and NO internet in the Yosemite Park except at the lodge. So until next time... Happy Trails and Safe Travels!

A Bump in the Road Adventure

Had a sight seeing day with friends Liz and Shorty Guptill today Wed 4/29/15. First stop was a wonderful little village nestled in the heart of San Benito Co Historical Park. Even though the park was closed the day we went, we could still walk around and peek into the buildings. As we strolled up the little road a man came out and introduced himself as Don, the grounds keeper. Don asked us if we would like to see the inside of the wonderful buildings. Of course we said yes... So we had our own private little tour. He and his wife have taken very good care of this neat little town. Don was very knowledgeable of the history of the each of the building there on the grounds. I am sure we heard and saw more than we would have if we had been in a large group of people.
Next on the list was the San Juan Bautista Mission this mission is another awesome mission on the trail of missions all along the California 101 coast Hwy.
Our stay at Morgan Hill Thousand Trails was coming to an end. We received an invitation from Gail and Mike Alexander over at San Benito Thousand Trails on Sunday 4/31/15 for one last get together with the RVers here in the area. We met up  at their coach along with Janice and Dave Evans, Liz and Shorty Guptill and an old friend of Gails, Sherylen Patterson. We had a great potluck lunchand afterwards we played a little Rummikub. What a great game, I just can’t get enough of it…
Tuesday morning as we prepared to hit the road to Yosemite… oops!  bump in the road!!! Ready to roll the very last thing to do was pull in the slides. Drivers slide comes in normal, the passenger side NOT SO MUCH. Ed called an RV repair service and luckily they could come out the same day. Had to do one of our extended weeks here so the slide can be repaired. Parts had to be ordered from Winnebago so now we’re just waiting. Hopefully we can head on to Yosemite Monday or Tuesday of next week. Not the Adventure anyone looks forward to.
Until next time, with the update on repairs… Happy Trails and Safe Travels!
