An Adventure of a Different Kind

After enjoying Palm Springs CA we made our way back to Menifee CA for our Dr’s apt to get an update on our meds. Ed had run out of some of his meds so we really needed to take the time to get this done. We found a pretty good Dr and had made these appointments the month before. We stayed at the same Thousand Trails Wilderness and had a great corner site. Once all the meds were taken care of we hit the road again, this time headed to Rancho Oso Thousand Trails out of Santa Barbara CA. There we met up with our good friends Janice and Rick Binns for the next 2 weeks. The 4 of us had a ball… eating out and playing games. We did the trolley around Santa Barbara, site seeing and went back the second day just so we could hop off and do some foot site seeing. You can buy a ticket and it’s good for 2 days. The first day we explored the pier across from the trolley station. We saw many great things, the Mission, the Court House, the largest Fig tree in the country, a Penny covered Diner and even a few odd Padres.  LOL
There were several restaurants and candy shops along the pier. We ate at this wonderful place on the pier for lunch the first day and then the second day we hopped off the Trolley in old town Santa Barbara and did a little walking around. We found the great little sandwich shop called Pickles and Swiss Sandwich Shop OMG they have THE best sandwiches in the state.
Yeah… got  a call from Janice Evans saying her and Dave were going to be in the Ventura area just south of Santa Barbara so we and the Binns drove down to meet them for lunch. Great surprise!
For those of you who don't know, the H E B crew stands for the Hurlburts + the Evans + the Binns = H E B... Just our little family group. Our adventure continued with touring the little Dutch community of Solvang which was just a few miles up the road from Rancho Oso Thousand Trails. A must see place when your in the area. Solvang CA

Later in the week we took a hike up to the waterfall at the campground. Amazing sights…
Now it’s back on the road onto our next adventure. We are headed to San Benito Thousand Trails just outside Hollister CA for 3 weeks. Here we will tour Gilroy the “Garlic Capital of the World” of California. Gilroy CA
Until next time, Happy Trails and Safe Travels…
